Johan Pousette

Johan Pousette is director of Iaspis, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s International Programme for visual and design artists, for a term of three years. He is Coordinator of Contemporary Art at Riksutställningar: the Swedish Exhibition Agency tasked with strategically strengthening the development and dissemination of contemporary art throughout Sweden.
He has many years of experience as a director, curator and project manager. In 2001-2007 he was Director of the Baltic Art Centre in Visby; he also has extensive experience of residency activities for visual and design artists nationally and internationally, and has, among other things, developed the new residency programme for the Nordic and Baltic countries on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers. He has served as a board member of Res Artis, a global network of residency activities, and is member of the international group of advisors for Trans Cultural Exchange in Boston, USA. As a freelance curator he has co-curated the Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, What a Wonderful World (2009) and the 51st October Salon (2010) in Belgrade, both with Celia Prado.
