CORRADO GUGLIOTTA

Corrado Gugliotta was born in Ragusa, Sicily. He has always been connected to his homeland and after his degree in Social Sciences in 2007, he decided to open a gallery in Monica called Laveronica, with an exhibition of the young Italian-Lybian artist Adelita Hosni-Bey.

The project of his gallery soon became central for his life and career.

During the years, he has organized exhibitions, performances, conferences, theatre shows, film screenings. Considering the geographical position of the gallery, he invited to Monica different artist of the Mediterranean countries such as Croatia, Cyprus, Israel, Libya, Lebanon, Albania, France and Italy.

He has always been interested in projects which overpass the limits of the art system and has had the opportunity to collaborate with writers, philosophers, sociologists, musicians, theater troops, political activists, associations and non-governmental organizations.

His gallery has been awarded numerous prestigious prizes such as New Entries Guido Carbone and Art Brussels 2015, Karen Renders Prize for the young section.
