JOA LJUNGBERG

Joa Ljungberg (1976, Sweden) hold the position of the Curator of Exhibitions at Moderna Museet Malmö Sweden since May 2009. She is educated as art historian at the Upssala University and Warwick University and holds an MA in Creative Curating from Goldsmith University of London. She has been a curator for the Public Art Agency in Sweden. Since 2014, she is curating the group exhibiton THE NEW HUMAN. OtheR exhibitions curated by Joa Ljungberg are Arcadian Bliss to Painted Exorcism with Pablo Picasso (2014), Rip Image with Tala Madani (2012), Plegaria Muda with Doris Salcedo (2011), The Girl, The Monster and the Goddess with Niki de Saint Phalle (2011), And Europe will Be Stunned with Yael Bartana (2010). She has also curated curated numerous public art projects, for instance Fruit and Energy Farms in a Public Square with Marjetica Potrc dhe Stealth (2010); Traveling North with Franz Ackermann (2006) and For Karlstad with Jenny Holzer (2005). In 2008, she co-directed the Tirana International Contemporary Art Biennal, titled The Symbolic Frame together with Edi Muka, In 2007, she curated the fourth edition of the
Göteborg International Biennal for Contemporary Art, titled Rethinking Dissent, also together with Edi Muka.
